Music for Weddings
First question. Is he any good? Download some mp3's and find out.
It's your day!!
You choose how the whole day will go, what songs you want, what atmosphere you want.
Don't settle for ".....well I hope he plays this and hope he doesn't play that......"
By the way if you need a DJ, photographer or bespoke cake maker see the links page.
Paul will liaise with you and make sure that you know what you are getting.
Where is the music required?? Consider your options
1. The ceremony. From a quarter of an hour before the ceremony to the entrance of the bride,
through the signing and to the exit of the happy couple. All the songs can be chosen by you
and it doesn't have to be "...The wedding march....". Why not Cole Porter, REM, David Gray,
Al Green, Van Morrison, Paul Weller? Best for piano only for this part.
2. The photos and drinks. You have had the list from me to choose some songs. Piano/vocal
whilst you are celebrating with champagne and nibbles. I'll start gauging the atmosphere.
It will be background, I'll chat with people, ask them if they want to hear a tune, keep it all
relaxed and informal.
3. The sit down meal/buffet. More piano/vocal. The sound level is crucial. Not too loud
and intrusive but good enough to create an atmosphere. Crucial that you have informed me
of the songs NOT to play.
The reason is that a certain song can cause an upset if a song is played that has a sad
connection for anybody. Live music and vocals is so much better than CD's at the meal.
4. The evening entertainment. Well yes, call it a day for the piano/vocalist if you want.
Alternatively you can have a DJ or how about a mixture of piano/vocal with the full band
backing sound plus a DJ.
It's your choice!
Price is important. Paul Simmons will normally charge between £75 and £125 an hour depending
on the number of hours. A whole day is even cheaper per hour whereas two hours is the higher fee.
Just phone or email and we can discuss what you want. Don't leave it to chance.
